Where to start....obviously not where the majority will lead you, like focusing on the tools and the how to do Agile. Instead focus on the mindset.
Why not? Because tools are the easiest choice. The choice that gives people the opportunity to present quick wins and therefore comfort or establish their position in an organisation. It's the illusion of doing the right thing...is it right but it is not It. The negative consequences are also many, The one I often see is teams trying to follow up some rules established by an entity or a person within the organisation, and then spending most of their non-coding time challenging and dismantling the rules.
Yes, it is iterative...but why starting by digging your own grave with hardcore rules and tools and how to's so that you will have to work hard to modify them. Why not focus first on the most important...the mindset!Below a quote from a great article I recently came accross, enjoy!
If you understand the true nature of the problems you are trying to solve, engage people in the right way, and proactively and iteratively work towards the outcome you need, you have the agile mindset, and a fighting chance of success!
